How to enhance motor performance by optimization of Neodymium Arc Magnet
The vast majority of Neodymium arc magnets are used in applications such as voice coil motor, generators, specific electronic devices and permanent magnet motors. Both shape and structure of the magnet significantly impacts the motor performance as these applications require high tolerance of heat and stress usage. Hence, the practical implementation of the arc magnet must be manufactured to maintain no substantial energy loss during its cycle. One challenge that comes with using arc magnets in permanent magnet motors is the cogging of a slotted motor due to interaction of torque between the magnet and the stator tooth. Due to the Eddy current; also known as Foucault`s current, the temperature rises in the permanent magnet which causes demagnetization hence decreasing the working efficiency of the motor. One solution that worked best to suppress torque ripple, vibration, and noise generated by cogging was to modify the radial flux motor or axial flux motor into a skewed shape. This can be applied with the use of a laminated arc magnet which is made by bonding several pieces of thin magnet through special isolation adhesive, which is also called magnet segmentation technology. This can dramatically reduce the eddy current loss without replacing the original structure and performance of the motor.

What are the possible reasons for demagnetizing of permanent magnets?
Neodymium magnets are strong permanent magnets that made of PrNd metal, iron and boron. It is not common to observe the demagnetizing effect in such strong magnets, but it is still possible. Below are some of the reasons why permanent magnets can be demagnetized: 1. High temperature lamination: in many cases, neodymium magnet needs to be laminated before it is assembled with other parts. Standard grades of neodymium magnets maintain a maximum working temperature of 80 Celsius, therefore when it goes through the lamination process (120 Celsius), demagnetizing effect occur. 2. Hot pressing process: neodymium magnets go through hot pressing process before it is assembled with other parts. As the maximum working temperature of standard grades of neodymium magnets is 80 Celsius, demagnetizing effect occur in hot-pressing process due its high temperature (120-150 Celsius). 3. Cheap raw material: Many suppliers tend to use cheap/lower grade material to keep cost low. Thus, cheap raw material is often mixed with other ingredients which affect the performance and stability of the magnetic force for the magnet both in short and long term. 4. Transportation: For air transport, Neodymium magnets are considered dangerous goods that need to follow IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations as seen below. - Flux measurements of all packages containing magnets must measure less than 0.00525 gauss 15` from the package. If flux measurements are less than 0.002 gauss when measured 7` from the package, the package is not considered to contain magnetic material, and hence is not classified as Dangerous Goods. However, unless the package is extremely secure and there is no chance that the contents will shift or that shielding will be damaged in transit, it is safer to proceed as though the package falls under the DGR. - Packages containing magnetic materials must be clearly identified according to Packing Instructions 902. This calls for a "Magnetized Material" label to be affixed, and for a Shipper's Declaration of Dangerous Goods to be provided to the carrier. - Personnel responsible for shipping magnets by air are required by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) to be trained for that purpose and for those training records to be maintained. Contact your carrier for more information and guidelines. Therefore, it is important to choose a magnet supplier with experience in exporting magnets as DGR need to be followed for magnets to be delivered to customers in safe/fast conditions. 5. High magnetic field environment: When neodymium magnets are placed in a strong magnetic field environment, for example magnetizer or a demagnetizer , its N pole and S pole will change and its magnetic force will be affected as well.

The application of single sided magnets
Single sided magnets are neodymium magnet with stronger magnetic force on one side compared to the opposite side. They are produced by using a metal case (zinc coating) to cover one side of the magnet so that the magnetic force is blocked on one side and magnetic force will be reflected onto the other. Single sided magnet typically comes in round shape and require longer manufacturing time due to extra steps taken when assembling the magnet with the metal cover case. While it may sound complex, it is still a popular option for many applications due to being cost efficient. Below are some common use scenarios for single-sided magnets: · Packaging: gift box packaging, phone packaging box, luxury goods packaging box, etc. · Leather goods: briefcase, electronic accessories case, wallet, purse, handbag, etc. · Stationery: notebook, folder, name badge, etc.

How to distinguish between sintered neodymium magnets and bonded neodymium magnets?
Neodymium magnets are the strongest permanent magnets in the magnet family. It`s grade ranges from N35 to N52, and shape can be customized into round, block, countersunk, arc, cylinder, triangular and so on through various machining process. How do we distinguish between bonded and sintered neodymium magnets? In fact, as both types are made from neodymium magnets, the major difference between bonded and sintered is from the production process. Bonded magnets are manufactured through molding while sintered magnets are produced through vacuuming and high-temperature sintering. Bonded magnets contain binding agents since it is molded and pressed into shape, so its density is only 80% of what it could be in theory. On the other hand, sintered magnets are produced through a more complex process under high temperature, so its magnetic strength is 30% higher than that of bonded magnets. Sintered neodymium magnets are strong permanent magnets produced by sintering raw material powder. Machining process (multi-wire cutting, drilling, grinding) are necessary for the sintered raw material piece to produce the various shape of magnets required. Since the process of manufacturing sintered neodymium magnets is difficult due to complex machining, the operational cost is higher, precision regarding size is off by a little and surface treatment is usually needed for anti-corrosion purpose. However, it is still the preferred option for many applications due to its high performance in terms of magnetic force compared to bonded neodymium magnets.

Is it possible to manufacture magnet with less than 1mm thickness?
When understanding the actual measurement of 1mm, one can see it as the thickness of three business cards stacked together. When observing a magnet, 1mm is the common requirement as if it is less than, the magnet starts to lose the strength needed for the required pull force. All magnets begin their process through powder metallurgy. In this process, composition is pulverized into fine powder, compacted and heated to cause densification via sintering. Presently, most of the ultra-thin magnets required by customers in the market are NdFeB strong magnets, such as D5*1, D10*1, D15*1. Thus, reducing the width is not recommended as they are easily broken during adsorption. How thin can your company customize the magnet? Currently, the thinnest sintered NdFeB magnet squares produced by our company can reach 0.4mm for special applications. Option: Ferrite magnets. Although it does not contain the same adhesive force as NdFeB magnets, depending on practical usage it is suitable for high frequency, low power and weak electric field surface thus popular for everyday applications. While affordable, it provides good endurance, very resistant to being demagnetized and high magnetic permeability. Ferrite magnets thickness can be as thin as 0.65mm.

Can NdFeB magnets with nickel plating withstand salt spray test for 72 hours?
In the selection of NdFeB Strong Magnet coatings, galvanized nickel plating is recommended on all magnets that require salt spray test for 72 hours. As neodymium magnets reacts easily to oxygen thus oxidizes quickly if untreated, galvanized nickel plating provides surface protection which maintains stability in most moist and temperature sensitive environments. Nickel plating on magnet that require salt spray test for 72 hours is difficult due to porosity. Salt water can create defects that are prevalent in thin nickel deposits which seriously reduce the value of the protective coating. As requirements are different among customers in regards to salt, acid and alkali resistance, applying just nickel plating may not work. Alternative option 1: Apply Parylene coating. Parylene is a p-xylene polymer which provides fully protective coating through vacuum deposition to create uniform thickness while extremely resistant to chemical corrosion. As it has very low moisture/gas permeability, it can help achieve resistance to organic solvents. Alternative option 2 – Electro-galvanization for salt spray test between 12 hours to 48 hours: If you require magnets with coating to withstand salt spray test for 12 hours, you could also go with the option of electro-galvanized zinc. There are different options provided in regards to color of coatings such as white, blue-white, color, and black. The current market salt spray test is as followed: White zinc Blue-White zinc Color zinc Black zinc 16 hours 24 hours 48 hours 12 hours Anything over 48 hours, it is generally recommended that customers choose galvanized nickel plating.

Can NdFeB strong magnets be punched?
Usually, neodymium magnets are mainly punched with countersunk holes, and there are also straight holes. For example, the processing method of the countersunk hole ring magnet is to dig holes or drill holes again after slicing processing, and the processing technology requirements are more particular. If a strong magnet already has a magnetic force, it needs to be demagnetized first, then drilled, and then re-magnetized after the appearance of the finished product is completed. Generally, it is mainly made of cylindrical or square cylindrical magnets.

Do you know the high temperature grade of magnets?
The composition of magnets is iron, cobalt, nickel and other atoms, the internal structure of its atoms is relatively special, and it has a magnetic moment itself. Magnets can generate magnetic fields and have the property of attracting ferromagnetic substances such as iron, nickel, cobalt and other metals. Today, the editor will tell you about the high temperature grade of magnets. 1. When the temperature is 80-100 ℃, the grade of the magnet is M. 2. When the temperature is 100-120℃, the magnet's grade is H gear. 3. When the temperature is 120-150℃, the magnet belongs to SH gear. The normal working temperature of the magnet is ≥80°C. If it goes through a high temperature, that is, it exceeds the normal working temperature of 80°C, demagnetization will occur. If the temperature is too high or too low, the length of time will directly affect the serious and slight demagnetization of the magnet. Theoretically speaking, the maximum temperature resistance value of the magnet is about 230℃, but the actual working temperature depends on the actual working temperature. It is recommended that you use magnets with high temperature resistant materials. We also encountered this problem before. In the case of hot pressing, the temperature of the indenter is higher than the normal working temperature, but the unit price of high temperature resistant magnets is a little more expensive than ordinary ones.

About the sintering process of NdFeB magnets
In terms of technology, NdFeB magnets include sintered NdFeB magnets and bonded NdFeB magnets. We mainly talk about sintered NdFeB magnets. The NdFeB magnet process is as follows: Process flow: batching → smelting and ingot making → pulverizing → pressing → sintering and tempering → magnetic testing → grinding → pin cutting → electroplating → finished product. Among them, the ingredients are the basis, and the sintering and tempering is the key. NdFeB magnet production tools: melting furnace, jaw crusher, ball mill, jet mill, press molding machine, vacuum packaging machine, isostatic press, sintering furnace, heat treatment vacuum furnace, magnetic property tester, Gauss meter. NdFeB magnet processing tools: there are special slicers, wire cutting machine tools, flat grinders, double-sided machines, punching machines, chamfering machines, and electroplating equipment. Features: NdFeB permanent magnet material is a permanent magnet material based on intermetallic compound Nd2Fe14B. NdFeB has a very high magnetic energy product and coercive force, and at the same time, the advantages of high energy density make NdFeB permanent magnet materials widely used in modern industry and electronic technology, thus making instruments, electroacoustic motors, magnetic separation magnetization It is possible to reduce the size, weight, and thickness of other equipment. Material characteristics: NdFeB has the advantages of high cost performance and good mechanical properties; the disadvantage is that the Curie temperature point is low, the temperature characteristics are poor, and it is easy to be pulverized and corroded. It must be adjusted by adjusting its chemical composition and adopting surface treatment methods. It can be improved to meet the requirements of practical application. Sintering process of NdFeB magnet material Before sintering and electroplating, NdFeB magnet materials must undergo chamfering, degreasing, pickling, ultrasonic cleaning and other processes that can stabilize and clean the surface, so as to obtain a coating with good bonding, low porosity and long-lasting corrosion resistance. Chamfering small parts can be chamfered with a centrifugal finishing machine, and larger parts can be chamfered with a spiral vibration or centrifugal vortex finishing machine after grinding the edges with a grinder. The chamfering should be carried out in a neutral or slightly alkaline medium, and should not be chamfered with an acidic or corrosive medium. Degreasing should be carried out in neutral and weakly alkaline degreasers. In order to avoid oxidation or hydrogen permeation, it is best not to carry out anode or cathode electrolysis. Pickling with dilute nitric acid solution or weak organic acid for a short time, but it should not be pickled in strong halogen acid, and should not be pickled in high concentration of strong acid, otherwise, the surface of the material will be sharply roughened or even pulverized.

Anti-corrosion points of NdFeB strong magnets
In many products, anti-corrosion has always been a problem that cannot be ignored. As a common type of magnet for high-strength magnet manufacturers, NdFeB strong magnets are also indispensable. Therefore, NdFeB magnets are very easy to be corroded, and because of this, most of the finished products need to be electroplated or painted. Commonly used surface treatments include: nickel plating (nickel copper nickel), zinc plating, aluminum plating, electrophoresis, etc. If working in a closed environment, phosphating can also be used. Let's take a look at the main points of anti-corrosion of NdFeB strong magnets: Anti-corrosion points of NdFeB magnets NdFeB is also a powder metallurgy product, and the processing method is similar to that of samarium cobalt. At present, the working temperature of NdFeB is around 180 degrees Celsius. If it is a harsh environment application, it is generally recommended not to exceed 140 degrees Celsius. Features of NdFeB magnets: Compared with permanent magnet materials such as ferrite, NdFeB strong magnets have excellent magnetic properties. Its magnetic energy product is much higher than other types of magnets, so it can be called "a generation of magnet king". NdFeB strong magnets have very high saturation magnetization Bs (Bs=16KGs) and magnetocrystalline anisotropy field HA (HA=73KOe), NdFeB strong magnet products are widely used in packaging, toys, gift crafts, fitness magnets Control cars, motors, micro motors, cameras, computers, clocks, audio, instruments, meters, motorcycles, home appliances, office automation, magnetic therapy and various fields of daily life. The above are the anti-corrosion points of NdFeB strong magnets that we have introduced in detail for you. NdFeB strong magnets are currently widely used and rapidly developing magnet products. It has only been more than 20 years since NdFeB has been widely used since its invention. Due to its high magnetic properties and ease of processing, the price is not very high, so the application field is expanding rapidly.

How to choose the NdFeB strong magnetic coating correctly
Common NdFeB strong magnets are golden and silvery white. In fact, the magnet itself is not what everyone sees, but it looks like it will appear after the electroplating process. The most common types of NdFeB strong magnetic coatings are galvanized and nickel-plated, which are the golden and silver-white magnets that everyone sees. Although most people know that magnets need electroplating, they are not clear about electroplating. What is the difference between the layer's effect on the magnet. In fact, galvanized and nickel-plated NdFeB magnets have significant differences in appearance, anti-rust treatment, and service life: First, the difference between polishing and polishing Nickel plating is superior to galvanizing in grinding and polishing, and the appearance is brighter. For those with high requirements on the appearance of the product, nickel plating is generally selected. Most of the exported goods are nickel-plated. And some magnets are not exposed, and the regulations on the appearance of the products are relatively low, generally galvanizing is enough. Second, the difference between anti-rust treatment After the nickel-plated surface is solved, its corrosion resistance is higher, which can reach 96H corrosion resistance and no rust, while galvanized only guarantees 48H corrosion resistance and no rust. 3. Strength difference Nickel plating is also higher than zinc plating. In the whole process of application, it can prevent the impact and other conditions to a great extent, and promote the occurrence of angle drop and cracking of the NdFeB strong magnetism. Fourth, the difference in the period of use Compared with nickel plating, zinc plating has different surface coatings and different corrosion resistance, and its service life is shorter than that of nickel plating. The specific performance is that the surface coating is very easy to fall off after a long time, causing air oxidation of the magnet, which in turn harms magnetic. Five, the price difference In these respects, galvanizing is extremely advantageous, and the price is sorted from low to high as galvanized, nickel-plated, epoxy glue, etc. The difference in the quality of raw materials and manpower is also a decision-making factor. The basic zinc-nickel plating is barrel plating, and nickel-plating is a method of inlaying a layer of nickel on metal materials or some non-metallic materials according to electrolysis or organic chemistry. Therefore, it is called nickel plating. The electroplating process of NdFeB strong magnetism is to enhance a layer of safety protection layer on the surface, which has the functions of beautiful appearance, corrosion resistance, anti-rust treatment, improved surface compressive strength, and increased service life.

Basic knowledge of magnetic materials
There are many types of magnets, which are generally divided into two categories: permanent magnets and soft magnets. What we call magnets generally refers to permanent magnets. Permanent magnets are divided into two categories: The first category is: metal alloy magnets including NdFeB magnets (Nd2Fe14B), Samarium Cobalt magnets (SmCo), AlNiCo magnets (ALNiCO) The second category is: ferrite permanent magnet materials (Ferrite) 1. NdFeB magnet: It is the magnet with the highest commercial performance found at present. It is called the magnet king. It has extremely high magnetic performance and its maximum magnetic energy product (BHmax) is more than 10 times higher than that of ferrite. Its own machining performance is also quite good. Operating temperature up to 200 degrees Celsius. Moreover, its texture is hard, its performance is stable, and it has a good price/performance ratio, so it is widely used. However, because of its strong chemical activity, it must be treated with a surface coating. (such as Zn, Ni, electrophoresis, passivation, etc.). 2. Ferrite magnet: its main raw materials include BaFe12O19 and SrFe12O19. Manufactured by the ceramic process method, the texture is relatively hard, and it is a brittle material. Because of its good temperature resistance, low price and moderate performance, ferrite magnets have become the most widely used permanent magnets. 3. AlNiCo magnet: It is an alloy composed of aluminum, nickel, cobalt, iron and other trace metal elements. The casting process can be processed into different sizes and shapes, and the machinability is very good. Cast AlNiCo permanent magnets have the lowest reversible temperature coefficient, and the working temperature can be as high as 600 degrees Celsius. AlNiCo permanent magnet products are widely used in various instrumentation and other application fields. 4. Samarium cobalt (SmCo): According to the different components, it is divided into SmCo5 and Sm2Co17. Its development is limited due to the high price of its materials. As a rare earth permanent magnet, samarium cobalt (SmCo) not only has a high magnetic energy product (14-28MGOe), reliable coercivity and good temperature characteristics. Compared with NdFeB magnets, samarium cobalt magnets are more suitable for working in high temperature environments. The following are the precautions for the use of magnets, please be sure to read them before using our company's magnet products. 1. During the use of the magnet, ensure that the workplace is clean, so as to prevent iron filings and other small impurities from being adsorbed on the surface of the magnet and affecting the normal use of the product. 2. NdFeB magnets are suitable to be stored in a ventilated and dry room. Acidic, alkaline, organic solvents, water, high temperature and humid environments can easily cause the magnets to corrode, the coating layer falls off, and the magnets are powdered and demagnetized. More attention should be paid to unplated products, which can be properly oiled to prevent rust during storage, which is the main reason why we recommend anti-corrosion treatment on the surface of NdFeB magnets. 3. Store magnets away from magnetic disks, magnetic cards, magnetic tapes, computer monitors, watches and other objects sensitive to magnetic fields, as well as electronic medical devices such as heart pacemakers, otherwise it is very dangerous. 4. The material of the magnet is hard and brittle. During transportation and installation, it should be ensured that the magnet will not be severely impacted. If the method is improper, it will easily cause the magnet to be damaged and cracked. 5. The magnet should be shielded when transported in the magnetized state, especially the air transport must be completely shielded. 6. When operating and assembling, be careful to extract one by one to avoid collision and damage, and prevent the scattered fragments generated by the magnet attracting and impacting from entering the eyes and causing harm to the human body. 7. Because NdFeB magnets are very strong, you should avoid hands or other parts of your body being clamped by the magnets during operation. For larger magnets, you should pay more attention to personal safety and protection. 8. Magnets with strong magnetism (neodymium iron boron and samarium cobalt) should not be placed together with magnets with weak magnetism (aluminum nickel cobalt and ferrite). 9. Please do not put the magnet where the child can reach, so as not to accidentally eat it.

Application of NdFeB Magnetic Tile in Brushless Motor
The development time of brushless motors in my country is short, and with the increasing maturity and improvement of technology, it has developed rapidly. The wide application of brushless motors in model aircraft products has driven many small and medium-sized NdFeB magnetic tiles and NdFeB diameters in the Pearl River Delta. The production and development of the magnetic ring enterprise has been widely used in many fields such as model aircraft, medical equipment, household appliances, electric vehicles, etc., and has formed a large-scale industrial chain in Shenzhen, Changsha, Shanghai and other places. In the aspect of brushless motors The research and development of new products has achieved remarkable results. We all know that NdFeB magnetic tile or NdFeB radial magnetic ring is as important as the human heart in motor products. After the current is energized, the magnetic field generated by the coil and the NdFeB magnetic tile or NdFeB radial magnetic Therefore, the magnetic field strength of the NdFeB magnetic tile or the NdFeB radial magnetic ring is very important for the operation efficiency of the motor. Let's take a look at the advantages of brushless motors first; 1. No brush, low interference. The brushless motor has removed the brush, and the most direct change is that there is no electric spark generated when the brushed motor is running, which greatly reduces the interference of the electric spark to the remote control radio equipment. 2. Low noise and smooth operation. The brushless motor has no brushes, the friction force is greatly reduced during operation, the operation is smooth, and the noise will be much lower. This advantage is a huge support for the stability of the model. 3. Long service life and low maintenance cost. Without the brush, the wear of the brushless motor is mainly on the bearing. From a mechanical point of view, the brushless motor is almost a maintenance-free motor. When necessary, only some dust removal maintenance can be done. The brushless motor, as the name implies, definitely does not need the original carbon brush. A magnetic field is formed around the winding coil that rotates around the geometric axis of the motor. This magnetic field drives the permanent magnet magnet on the rotor to rotate, and the motor rotates. The performance is related to the number of NdFeB magnetic tiles, the magnetic flux intensity of the NdFeB radial magnetic ring, the input voltage of the motor, etc. The brushless electronic governor really determines its performance. A good electronic governor needs to have The single-chip microcomputer controls the overall control of program design, circuit design, complex processing technology and other processes, so the price is much higher than that of brushed motors.

What happens when a magnet is heated?
Magnetic materials should maintain a balance between temperature and magnetic domains (the tendency of atoms to spin in a certain direction). However, when exposed to extreme temperatures, this balance becomes destabilized and the magnetism suffers. While cold increases the strength of the magnet, heat causes the magnetic properties to degrade. In other words, too much heat can completely destroy the magnet. the physics behind it; While increasing the temperature, the magnetic material will lose its magnetization up to a certain limit. As the atoms accelerate, the percentage of magnetic domains spinning in the same direction decreases. Beyond this limit, the magnet becomes a non-magnetic material, and this temperature limit is called the Curie temperature. In addition to this, the magnetic dipole is changing its orientation, which depends on the spontaneous magnetic moment of the ferromagnetic substance, which is called magnetism. When the temperature decreases, the magnetic moment increases and the magnet heats up. When the Curie temperature is reached, the spontaneous magnetic moment decreases and becomes zero. The magnetic moment of ferromagnetic substances will also be affected by many factors, such as external magnetic fields. If you want to make physical observations, do this simple experiment: Bring a magnet and some small nails. First take the bar magnet and check if it attracts the iron pin, if so then the bar magnet is ok, if not replace the magnetized one. Now take a bowl full of water and dip the magnet bar in it. Start heating the device on the stove, or place a thermometer in the bowl to watch the readings. If your reading exceeds 176 degrees Fahrenheit or 80 degrees Celsius, stop heating. Now take the magnet and hold it close to the nail. You will find that the nails are no longer attractive, which confirms my explanation, so when the magnet is heated, the magnetism becomes weaker. This observation fits perfectly with Curie's law, which states that in paramagnetic materials, the magnetization of the material is (approximately) proportional to the applied magnetic field. However, if the material is heated, this ratio decreases. For a fixed value of the magnetic field, the magnetization is (approximately) inversely proportional to the temperature.

How much can NdFeB magnets absorb?
Under normal circumstances, NdFeB magnets can pick up objects 600 times their own weight. The suction force of NdFeB magnets has a certain relationship with its volume, performance grade and distance. The higher the grade, the greater the suction power. For example, the magnet of the same size and specification, N48 has a much higher suction power than N35. Refers to the distance between the magnet and the object to be adsorbed. The greater the distance, the smaller the suction force. There are many specifications of NdFeB magnets, including holes and special-shaped ones, which are directly related to the suction force, and the calculation is more complicated. And different distances have different suction power. Different material grades also have different suction power. The suction formula of ordinary NdFeB magnets: weight * 600 times = suction PS: weight = volume * density The suction formula of circular NdFeB magnets: volume * density * 600 times = suction Jiangmen xinlike Magnetoelectric Co., Ltd. mainly produces rare earth NdFeB magnets (strong magnets, square magnets, round magnets, special-shaped magnets), magnetic components, high-temperature magnets and other magnetic products.
